line on the yard.
It is also the one most often bought on habit — a ration that was right three years ago, a form that suits the mill more than the barn, a schedule built around somebody else’s truck.
Farmers First sells feed and, separately, will sit down and go through the programme: what is going in, what is coming out, and whether the two match. Sometimes the answer is a different ration. Often it is something duller, like how and when it is getting in front of the animals.

What is nutrition service?
Working through what the livestock are actually being fed against what they are actually producing — ration, form, stage and timing — and saying plainly what is worth changing.
Do I have to buy feed to get the service?
No. Plenty of operations start with the nutrition conversation and buy feed afterwards, if at all.
What livestock do you work with?
Poultry through to cattle and hogs. The poultry side connects directly to the Feed Caddy, which is how feed gets in front of day-old birds.
