Farmers First / Feed Caddy
Feed Caddy
North American and internationally patented. Brood paper and feed in a single pass — distributed by Farmers First direct to broiler operations and select regional dealers across North America.
Feed Caddy — the primary line
The first six hours
decide the flock.
A day-old bird that doesn’t find feed early never fully catches up. The Feed Caddy replaces the wheelbarrow and hundreds of trays with one trip down the barn: paper off the back, feed metered over it, rate driven off ground speed.
More feed coverage at placement than hand-filled trays.
To lay paper and feed a full barn, depending on house size.
Models — 440 lb, 1,102 lb and 2,204 lb capacity.
Bird types: chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks and game birds.
Why it matters
What the old way
actually costs.
A wheelbarrow and hundreds of trays is slow, uneven, and the whole job starts again two days later. What it really costs is not the labour — it is the birds that never found feed early enough to catch up.
The Feed Caddy replaces the whole job with one trip down the barn. A roll of brood paper runs off the back while feed meters out over it, driven off ground speed so the rate can’t run heavy at a walk or sparse at a trot. Lay the paper under the nipple drinkers and every bird has feed and water at the same moment.
- Consistent, uniform, repeatable distribution
- 600% more feed coverage than hand-filled trays
- Prevents starve-outs and reduces mortality
- Roughly 30 minutes to do a full house
- Hitches to a quad or small tractor — or hand-pulled

Pick the size to the barn.
The only real question is how much feed you want to carry before a refill stop. Everything else about the three units is the same machine.

Feed Caddy 3630

Feed Caddy 4642
Quad or small tractor. The common broiler-barn size.
Feed Caddy 6044
Full-length barns and multi-barn placements without a refill stop.
Feed Caddy paper
The paper is
half the machine.
The paper is a patented biodegradable sheet, 0.008 in thin and tinted green specifically so it stands out against bedding or litter. Chicks find it by contrast — and it makes a ruffling sound under them that draws their attention and brings them back to feed.
Run it under the nipple drinkers and birds get feed and water in the same place at the same time. It dissolves in about seven days depending on how thick the feed was laid. Put a few rows down on the non-brooding ends to migrate birds into full-house use.

Feed Caddy questions
Everything growers ask.
What does the Feed Caddy actually do?
It lays a strip of biodegradable brood paper and an even layer of feed over it in a single pass down the barn, so day-old birds have feed and water in front of them the moment they are placed.
What sizes does it come in?
Three. The 3630 holds 440 lbs, the 4642 holds 1,102 lbs and the 6044 holds 2,204 lbs. The smallest is hand-pulled; the larger two hitch to a quad or a small tractor.
How long does a barn take?
About 30 minutes to place both paper and feed, depending on house size.
What birds is it used for?
Chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks and game birds.
What is the Feed Caddy paper made of?
